Medicinal Benefits of Dilosyn Expectorant
Methdilazine + Ammonium Chloride + Sodium Citrate is a combination of three medicines: Methdilazine, ammonium chloride and sodium citrate which relieve cough. Methdilazine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Ammonium chloride is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

Upset stomach, Sleepiness, Headache, Dizziness, Dry mucous membrane, Allergic reaction, Skin rash

Drug Warnings
- Drink extra fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
- If you are diabetic, monitor your blood glucose regularly while taking this medicine.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of thyroid or heart disease.
- Stop taking Methdilazine + Ammonium Chloride + Sodium Citrate and inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache.

PREGNANCY
Methdilazine + Sodium Citrate + Ammonium chloride shows severe side effect on pregnant women. For this reason, pregnant women should only take it after taking medical advice.
BREAST FEEDING
There is no research available on the side effects of Methdilazine + Sodium Citrate + Ammonium chloride in breastfeeding women. Therefore, its impact is unknown.
DRIVING
It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
