About Picolax Suspension

Sodium Picosulfate + Milk of Magnesia is a combination of two laxatives: Sodium picosulfate and milk of magnesia which relieve constipation. Sodium picosulfate is a stimulant laxative which increases peristalsis (the wave-like movement of the intestines) to push the stools forward. Milk of magnesia is a laxative that works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, making the stools soft and easier to pass.

Sodium Picosulfate + Milk of Magnesia is a laxative that treats constipation by drawing water into the bowels thereby making stools softer and easier to pass. This medicine may take 6 to 12 hours to start working, therefore it is best to take it at bedtime. Take it as instructed even if it seems that it is not working as expected.
