Description
Liver Profile Mini is a basic screening package that assess your Liver Function. These tests are used to determine inflammation and damage to the liver or how well the liver is functioning. They measure how well the liver is performing its normal functions of producing protein and clearing waste products. Some tests also measures enzymes that liver cells release in response to damage or disease.
These tests can be used to detect the presence of liver disease, distinguish among different types of liver disorders, gauge the extent of known liver damage and follow the response to treatment.
Liver Function Test helps :
- Diagnose liver disorders if you have symptoms which may be due to liver disease – such as appearing ‘yellow’ . The pattern of the blood results may help to determine which disorder is causing the problem. For example, depending on which enzyme is highest, it may point to a particular disorder.
- Monitor the activity and severity of liver disorders.
- To screen for any potential liver disease (e.g in alcohol-dependent individuals or in people who have been exposed to a hepatitis virus)

| Dosage | Bilirubin: Bilirubin is a by-product of RBC breakdown. Bilirubin passes through the Liver and is passed in stool. An elevated Bilirubin idicates liver damage SGPT - SGPT or ALT test and SGPT or AST test are liver enzymes that helps protein and amino acid metabolism. An increased ALT and AST levels indicate liver damage ALP and LD are enzyme produced by the liver and a higher level in the blood indicates damage. Proteins: Albumin is one of the several proteins produced by the Liver and plays a critical role in combination with other proteins. Lower levels indicate impaired Liver Function |
