About Sodoplus-DS Tablet

Sodium Bicarbonate - 450G belongs to a group of medicines called alkalinising agents used to correct the acid-alkaline balance in the body. Sodium Bicarbonate - 450G is used to treat acid indigestion, heartburn, sour stomach, stomach upset, metabolic acidosis, severe diarrhoea and poisoning. Sodium Bicarbonate - 450G may also be used to treat patients who have taken too many tricyclic antidepressants only after other resuscitation methods have been attempted.
 
Sodium Bicarbonate - 450G contains ‘Sodium bicarbonate’, which helps in neutralising the acidic pH in the stomach. Thereby, Sodium Bicarbonate - 450G helps to provide relief from acidity. Sodium Bicarbonate - 450G helps in reducing the amount of acid in the body after a heart attack in patients who have too much potassium in their blood or too much acid in their body. Directions for Use

Take Sodium Bicarbonate 1-2hours prior to food. Depending on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take Sodium Bicarbonate.Tablet: Swallow Sodium Bicarbonate as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or crush the tablet. Liquid: Take the prescribed dose by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the pack well before use.Injection: A healthcare professional will administer the injection form of Sodium Bicarbonate. Please do not self-administer.Powder for oral solution: The powder should be mixed in 1-2 tablespoons of water and swallowed.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

Sodium Bicarbonate may have interaction with antibiotic (doxycycline), pain killer (aspirin), anti-hypertensive (mecamylamine), NMDA receptor antagonist (memantine), anti-diabetic (chlorpropamide), anti-psychotic (lithium), diuretic (furosemide, bumetanide, ethacrynic acid), sympathomimetic drug (pseudoephedrine, ephedrine), CNS stimulant (amphetamine), anti-arrhythmic (quinidine, flecainide), potassium supplements, and corticosteroids.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Sodium Bicarbonate. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increases acidity and heartburn.

 

DRIVING

Sodium Bicarbonate is unlikely to affect your ability to drive and handling of machinery.

 

LIVER
